Made a huge difference, much easier starting on all sources. A fairly small DIN rail mount module. Inverter supply / small genset / large genset - it quietens down the start process too. You used to feel a thump as the (piston) compressor overcame the rotor lock, not any more.Neil & Leyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05003534197946819046noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7834826019588534175.post-43339218436512690932014-10-08T11:53:02.552-04:002014-10-08T11:53:02.552-04:00I will be interested in an update on this, Bill, a...I will be interested in an update on this, Bill, as I was considering one of these units to allow me to "kick" the Mermaid Marine Air 12,000 BTU AC/heat pump unit we have installed aboard. As I understand it, the start amperage of the March pump/AC unit is 17 amps, falling back to 6 amps for running, which exceeds (likely, meaning I wouldn't want to push it) both the capacity of my 2000W inverter and Honda 2000 to supply when off shore power. My "solution" was to acquire a Honda 2000 and the Honda 2000 Companion for both "kick" and redundant charge purposes, The Dometic unit was a cheaper route, at least in theory.Rhyshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00598445145507204424noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7834826019588534175.post-71629680895301636192014-09-01T05:31:48.247-04:002014-09-01T05:31:48.247-04:00Anon, that certainly is possible and the majority ...Anon, that certainly is possible and the majority of the damage is in that specific area.
